I’m looking to travel in July and unsurprisingly the BA Avios flights in J have long sold out, nothing available with the Amex voucher either.
I’m checking for routes with one stopover, the obvious one is via Doha although currently I can only find Doha to BKK flights in J and the return is in F…fair enough but their business product is great and I don’t need to spend the extra Avios in First.
I could book this but wanted to check if there are any other routes using Oneworld partners I’m missing? I’ve searched from Helsinki with Finnair and no availability. There are plenty of cheap reward flights to India with Virgin but no obvious Avios or Virgin point route from there to Bangkok.
I can see some Royal Jordanian options in July. So that would be 1 stop via Amman if you don’t mind giving them a try. There are also Sri Lankan options via Colombo but these seem to have quite a long transit time.
Have you looked at availability on Finnair?
If you can get to SIN, there’s a fifth freedom flight by Cathay to BKK.
Isn’t the BA BKK route winter-only, or has that changed now?
A possible route might be to get to KUL then onwards on Malaysia Airlines, no idea what availability is like though!
Or LHR-DOH-BKK outbound, BKK-KUL-LHR inbound.

Or even CX via HKG itself.
Long shot and probably only worth trying if you can delay your trip by a few months, but Oman Air is joining oneworld at the end of June
Thanks all. Finnair has no availability in July it seems to BKK in J. Oman air has some but the flight back to the uk is in a A320 with BA which I didn’t expect so not a lie flat seat. Availability with Malaysia is good but then I can’t find a direct flight back to London (it goes via Doha).
For now I think going via Doha is best and I could book the First seats from BKK to DOH and hope a J seat comes up and I can cancel and swap to save the Avios. There are some other options with Virgin, flying Vietnam to London for 85k and very low taxes but I don’t think the airline is great. Air France has some availability to CDG from BKK but it’s a bit steep at 120k virgin points but then only $241 taxes. On an A350 which is meant to be a great product.
Will keep looking, thanks a lot for above suggestions and keep them coming.

What are you being quoted for the mixed class (F/J) redemption?
I recently booked MAN-DOH-BKK via QR which is the A35K Qsuite from MAN and then A388 in F to BKK and that was 75,000 avios, the same as a standard business redemption. Likewise on the return, I was able to book F on the Ex-Cathay 777 and then J on an A359 into EDI for 90,000 which is the same as a standard J reward booking for those dates.
I did notice reward flights outside of the UK and EI with an F leg were being quoted at 135,000 though. Likewise I also found redemptions to LHR with a leg in F were also now charged at 135,000 whilst EDI, MAN, and DUB were all 90,000.
