Attending a big conference in the US for 7 days in Jan at a Marriott. Rather than me pay and expense to my client as I normally do, my client is booking and paying for the bedrooms themselves. Assume I’ll get no points? No way around this?
That depends how they booked the rooms. Last time a room was booked for me it was done direct, I emailed me award details ahead of time, and was given points and an upgrade.
There are often rules against points when ‘central billing’ is used – probably because individual room bills are not generated and so the computer doesn’t trigger points. As a one off it should be fine BUT you never know if your client books it via Expedia etc.
