Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points
Always check your bill on check out. Vegas hotels have a tendency of charging you for mini bar usage including those items that sit on top of it.
I have had this happen at the Aria and the Cosmo, in fact, the last time I was at the Aria, there were a group of 12 of us and they tried it with every one of us despite none of us not even opening the minibar door. As soon as you quibble it they backtrack and blame the system.
As I love a moan I complained to the CEO of MGM Resorts stating that to happen to two guests is simply a coincidence, three unlucky, but twelve? That looks like fraud. Cue an apology and refund of my resort fee to shut me up.
Whilst I do not believe I have ever experienced anything underhanded like the above – I have had someone charge something to my room before, and the excess over the included F&B were miscalculated after checking out of the Resorts World cabana.
Both sorted by the front desk… and the only time I ever go to the desk to checkout is if there is a billing error.
Thankfully you can always view your bill on the TV before your leave the room, so do not need to go to the desk to checkout usually!
