Sorry but my OCD is getting triggered every single day by the title of this sticky article that is viewable no matter where I go on the forums.

We’ve recently hit the 2 year anniversary of the launch of the card. It cannot be described as the *NEW* Barclaycard Avios Plus Mastercard.

Please do the needful.

Do you actually have OCD? It’s mentally debilitating — not the kind of thing triggered by the wrong use of a word 🙂

It’s a fair point. HOWEVER you need to remember that due to the inability of Barclays to advertise these cards direct to Avios members, the number of people who literally don’t know they exist is huge.

I am genuinely shocked by how many applications we process each month, presumably from ‘first time’ HfP visitors who had never even seen the card before landing on some random site page from a Google search.

‘New’ is also relative given that the BA Amex is 20 years ago and there is no newer travel rewards credit card.

The same debate came up in the IHG article today. Is Crowne Plaza Heathrow T4 a ‘new’ hotel? It’s six years ago, perhaps not. But covid closed, or effectively closed, it for three of those years. And if we call it ‘new’ it clearly separates it from other Heathrow hotels which can literally be 50 years old.

I’ve just applied for a Barclaycard Avios Plus for myself and my husband and got accepted.

I’m getting out of control with my numerous mileage and hotel schemes (plus I also have to manage my husbands!!) – do you have any codes spare for Award Wallet at the moment Rob? I think I need to dive in now 🙂
