I have a couple of months to run in my BAPP year but have hit my companion voucher and a retention bonus already. I will be eligible for Platinum SUB in May so may see if there’s a good deal on then but in the meantime if I want to cancel my BAPP (to save on the fee) and not have my own card until May, is it advisable to get a free card (e.g. Nectar Amex) in the meantime to keep my account open? Or does it not matter? I don’t want my account to close completely when I don’t have any cards. If it helps I can maintain a supplementary card on someone else’s account.
Any thoughts? Cheers.
