Forums Other London life First time at The Langley – any tips?

  • 213 posts

I’ll be soon celebrating my birthday at The Langley with a one-night stay over the weekend.

It’ll be our first time there, booked under an FHR rate. I know Rob and many here are massive fans.

I’m planning on arriving in the morning and using the facilities, hoping our room will be ready before check-in time.

We want to get there by public transport. Elizabeth Line + cab seems doable.

Do you any have any tips or recommendations to make the most of our time there?

Be wary of the ‘service charge’ that will be added to your room cost. It’s entirely discretionary.

Aside from that, enjoy the pool, it’s lovely

I called to confirm. 12.5%, apparently discretionary. Discretionary or not, it’s outrageous. I might have to rethink my birthday weekend.

I can now see the fee in the cost breakdown. 5% seems to be amount.

either way ask for the bill before paying at the property
that flips me off so badly, they don’t even bother with printing out the bill before charging me — that’s for many upscale hotels..

Make sure you’ve booked any treatments you want at the spa as it’s almost impossible to get an appointment if you leave it a day or 2 before the day. The 90min Orange Blossom massage was excellent.

Watch out for the grumpy young blonde waitress at breakfast!
