Good afternoon from the Finnair lounge at HEL, where I’m sipping a Mojito while waiting for our onward flight to ICN.
First time doing this, but as above we saved nearly £200 each by splitting LHR-HEL-ICN into two (redemption) tickets.
No problem checking luggage through to ICN at LHR this morning.
As the flight from LHR was on an A321, I’m glad we didn’t pay for J on that sector. The flight was about half full, so most Y pax had an empty seat next to them.
Seats not very comfortable, but tolerable for 3 hours.
Lovely professional cabin crew. Came round twice with the Blueberry juice. Free limited internet access gives access to WhatsApp messaging, and a moving map and connection information.
Fair breakfast at the BA lounge at T3, and really nice lunch at the AY lounge.
For people nervous about self connecting on a 3 hour layover, we could have spent a night at a hotel in Helsinki and still been quids in.
Looking forward to settling in to our AirLounge seats shortly for a good night’s sleep.
