Forums Frequent flyer programs Other frequent flyer schemes Fast Track to Flying Blue Gold (Lounge access) status

I am currently Flying Blue Silver with 60 Flying Blue XP points and need to get 180 XP points by 30 September 2023 to achieve Gold status. I live (mostly) in Amsterdam. Does anybody know of any good shortcuts to achieve status in the Flying Blue programme quickly, akin to using the BA short haul CE flights with 80 tier points instead of 40? Does anybody have any ideas?

Very easy to collect 90 XP in business by starting away from AMS and connecting in both CDG and AMS. For example, DUS-CDG-AMS-KRK-AMS-CDG-DUS for around £500. Another option is to book a cheap Saudia business class run, currently starting in TUN and CAI offer the cheapest fares but the starting destinations jump around regularly. There’s a long and active thread on Flyertalk on the FB board discussing XP runs.

Two business class runs with one connection will get you 60XP each. They can be done for around £420 per return flight (based on my most recent 10 short haul J bookings over the last 15 months, which is based on flights for the last 6 and next 9 months), use Google flights to see what is available and when. As @TJones says, travel to KRK tends to have 2 connections and can be around £412 gaining 90XP, though I have noticed recently one direction will only allow you to have 1 connection (XXX-CDG-AMS-KRK-AMS-XXX) making 75XP per return.

Bergen is another good option for this as you can easily make 75XP to 90XP quite cheaply, as is Oslo TRF if you can add in a connection at CDG. Both will be similar prices to Krakow.

Once you hit the Medium Haul distances over 2,000 miles to 3,500 for the specific flight, the XP does not increase much and the prices tend to be quite high for the benefit. If you want to do it in one hit, then one long haul with a connection at CDG and AMS return will give you the 120XP. This can be possible from around £1,300.
