Forums Other Destination advice Fast-track arrival services into Hanoi airport

I am wondering if its worth buying something like this for our arrival into Vietnam from Laos ~8pm. I happened to notice that the Barclays Avios account has it for ~£25pp but its not very clear exactly what it offers. You also seem to be able to buy it from Getyourguide or Klook etc from anywhere between £50 to £20, neither of which are very helpful in describing what it entails apart from emphasising the MASSIVE amount of time you will save.

I dont need someone to help collect my bags (this seems part of the service for some), but being able to jump the passport/visa/immigration queues might be useful. We will be doing the visa-exemption thing rather than visa on arrival. There seems to be fast-track immigration and fast-track visa stamping…

Does anyone have any experience of fast-track (or normal) entry at Hanoi? Does it make the whole process quicker?

    TIA

I don’t recall the queues being very long, so I wouldn’t think it’s worth it – especially if you have checked luggage to wait for at the other end.

    An update.
We didnt bother with any fast-track. We were near the front of the plane and about 3 people ahead of us in the passport queue. It only took a few mins and we were waiting for luggage.

Tip re booking a hotel airport pickup. Dont bother. The security outside the airport dont let cars wait, so if your driver turns up early, they make them leave and drive round again through all the crap traffic, so we waited ~ 20 mins for him to arrive for the 2nd time. It would have been much quicker to just use Grab.

So you were in Vietnam too – we were there before we flew to HK!

The only queues we had at passport control were in HK where there were only about 6 manned desks and long queues! It wasn’t like that pre Covid!

Sounds like there could have been an HfP party on BA32 had it not been cancelled!

HKG was also the longest queue for us as well out of SIN, Cambodia, Laos & Vietnam. Still, it meant I could message Airalo and sort out why my eSim wasnt connecting!

This is why better hotels have an airport rep who meets you and calls the driver to arrive outside at the precise moment, plus all the benefits the hotel car offers on arrival at the hotel.
