Forums Other Housekeeping Every post under an article requires approval by a moderator

  • 25 posts

Every time, and I literally mean every time, that I post a comment under an article, it requires approval by a moderator. Sometimes my posts are approved, and sometimes they are lost and forgotten. Everything that I post is on-topic and polite. Why is this? I see that others are posting after me, and it is clear from the timestamps that their posts are not subject to moderation or approval.

I suspect you may be on a naughty list for one previous posting. Any posting-under-the-influence at any point in the past??

No, all my posts have been very polite and on-topic. No exceptions. That’s why it’s so odd.

    Where are you based?

Some countries are on the HFP naughty list and so require approval.

Suggest you email the site – address at the bottom of the page – so Rob / Rhys can look into it.

Just for clarity …. no posts are “lost and forgotten”. Unless there is a specific policy reason to delete them, they are approved. Every ‘pending’ post is dealt with every time we go into the system.

Also worth clarifying that NFH is talking about comments on the main site and not on the forum. There is now zero chance of a forum post being blocked UNLESS you are quoting someone else’s post. A very small % of posts which start with a quote are being popped into ‘pending’ and we have no idea why, but we do release them when we see them.

A more annoying issue for us is that we can clearly see in the back-end system when there are pending comments but NOT when there are pending forum replies. We need to proactively look for pending forum replies and it often doesn’t get done for a while.
