I have about 40,000 Etihad Guest miles, half of which are about to expire in May. I have no plans to travel other than for a short trip to the USA. I know I can redeem for an e-gift card, but I can see AA is a partner. Is there any other way other than to call Etihad to check reward availability. I know it will probably just be a one-way but USA flight are crazy expensive so at least I can work out if it feasible to redeem or get an e-Gift card. I don’t mean the standard redemption chart; I mean actual reward availability on AA. Thank you.
You’d need to check with an AA partner that has an online system, like BA or Cathay. Set your expectations — Availability is poor.
