Forums Other Flight changes and cancellations help EC261 covers Turkey?

  • 7 posts

    Hi,

Having looked i to this I’m still not sure what the rules are regarding EC261 in Turkey…

I had a flight booked ESB (Ankara) to MAN via IST. The flight from Ankara was delayed and made me miss my connection in Istanbul. After some negotiation with Turkish airlines I managed to get them to rebook me on KLM via AMS and still get home to MAN the same day all be it 6 hours later than originally planned.

My question is whether or not EC261 compensation would be payable as I understand flights into the EU would be covered?

    TIA

EU 261 does not apply as TK isn’t an EU airline and the regulation does not apply to non EU airlines and their flights to the EU area.

I don’t know how accurate this website is, but seems to have a handy reference table to determine which (if any) 261 regulation applies.
