Based on my planned stays for 2025 I’m going to be about 500 points away from platinum at the end of the year. Any easy way to earn a few status points? Does F&B spending earn status points?

Depends on the individual hotel. But yes, F&B CAN earn status.
I just renewed platinum with only 16 status nights but a ton of spend in 2024.

In Sofitel T5 even spa spend counts. Everything that’s put on the room.
Another banger in London is TRIBE Canary Wharf.

Doesn’t work at all Novotels or Mercures though. You need to check individually.

    What status are you now?

Yeah, this looks the best way to do it. OP might even want to think about keeping the Signature plan: the Brazilian Real is now so cheap after recent devaluation that you are buying €100 of reward points for €88, plus getting 1000 status points into the bargain (see my post in the thread on Oneworld Ruby for £298 for more about this).

If you purchase the Signature, I found the only card that would work is the Amex, as the 2FA works and does not detect scam ( unlike the Barclay / Halifax / Nationwide / etc )

There probably will be an Accor offer on the Signature as well at some stage during the year.

My MBNA Horizon Visa works fine.
