Hi, my flight to faro today has been cancelled, rebooked onto a flight +3 hours later – assume it has been cancelled due to storm Kathleen. We’ve not left for the airport yet, but it has caused disruption. I’m guessing duty of care applies? If so, would you collect vouchers at check in?? Thanks in advance.

Article 9 Right to Care costs aren’t a form of compensation for inconvenience or disruption, but to cover costs that have been or might reasonably be incurred. If you were waiting at the airport then you might have some entitlement to ‘refreshments’ appropriate to the time of day, but as you are coming from home, there is no strict entitlement, but you can ask at the desk even though BA more commonly operates on a pay now claim later basis and I suspect a retro claim might not be successful and if BA knows you have access to a lounge even less so.
