Hi,
Having just received SUB from the paid card, I’d like to downgrade to the free card, but what happens to Avios not yet transferred to BA account? Is it retained like Amex or should I wait until it’s swept to BA?
Another question is regarding the monthly fee. I received the card on the 24th two months ago, and the fee was charged a week later on the 2nd. It doesn’t sound right being charged for just a week of usage? Has anyone else claimed it back?

Dunno, but when you doowngrade, you get a new card and new card number, however all previous transactions, statements and Avios earning details are still visible online.

When the card launched last year, plenty of people on here managed to get the first month fee refunded, on the basis that they were charged for a period of time before the card had even arrived.
Ring the number on the back of your card. Maybe they’ll give you a pro-rata refund, or maybe refund the whole month as a goodwill gesture. No harm in asking.
