Downgrade from business to economy – is that possible?

I need to change a flight. I’m booked in business and there’s no availability in business on the flight I want to take. Can I actually change it to an economy ticket? Will I be allowed to do so? I’ve been trying to get hold of CS but calls keep failing (I’m abroad) and before I find a more expensive way of contacting them, just anted to make sure I can actually do that.

How did you book? Is it a cash fare or avios?

It’s going to depend on the type of cash ticket you bought whether there’s any flexibility to change it. If it’s non refundable you’re only going to get your taxes back.
