I had an outbound domestic BA flight cancelled at the airport due to a technical problem with the aircraft found 10 mins before the flight was departing. I’ve (thankfully!) so far never had a flight cancel on me – it was a redemption and I flew the return leg. We had to take a train because we needed to be in London that evening for an onward connection (non-BA) – for those who have been in a similar situation;
Have BA refunded train tickets in the past? (we did a separate upgrade to weekend first too because the train was packed – I assume that can’t be claimed for) – am I better off going down the EU261 route, or getting a refund of the points and taxes + the expenses claim?
You should be entitled to a refund of the train ticket – I am assuming that cost more than your flight?! You can claim it on ba.com. Don’t accept a refund of your flights unless you’d rather have that.
