How long would it take to walk from the Lufthansa Lounge to the United Lounge in T2? I ask as I’ve heard the United lounge is much better.
Are you flying LH? If so you’ll be leaving from the T2 mail building. Whereas United lounge and gates are T2 satellite building. I’m not sure I’d bother leaving the main building if that’s where your gate is. But then I don’t drink alcohol or coffee so matters like grand cru or a barista machine are irrelevant to me.
The United lounge is the farthermost lounge in T2B. If you’re departing from there, it makes sense to check it out. If not, then you need to factor in the 10 minutes it takes to walk between terminals (slightly longer on the way back as there are no travelators). From the LH lounge, I’d say 15 minutes is fairly accurate to reach the United lounge.
However, I’d suggest you drop by the Singapore Airlines lounge at T2B first.
It’s a long walk – LHR signs it as 15 minutes and IIRC when I did it it really was that length of time.
There are some travelatotors on the way to the gates but not on the way back.
Count 15 minutes brisk walk.
Bacon, orange juice, coffee and the bar are all worth it.
Someone on another thread did say SQ lounge did nice breakfast and that’s only next door.
You’ll pass the AC Maple Leaf lounge on the way but I’ve not been in there and would be interested in feedback.
Lufthansa lounge is OK definitely not their worst but rather bland. I would only stay in there if short of time.
LH lounge is not amazing but food is passable / filling. The inner room (for Star Gold, although the catering appears to be identical to the outer room) is usually quiet with ample table space for doing work if needed.
Thus, unless I arrive early enough to be through security with 3 hours left before scheduled departure of a T2A flight, I don’t feel that it’s worth spending the 30 minutes to get to a T2B lounge and back…. I always find I need the toilet after eating and drinking and it always takes longer than I think it will, so I would end up having to run or risk missing my flight.
When I go to T2B it’s SQ or UA, SQ food is obviously mainly Asian and UA is more western/mixed, so depends on what I’m feeling like. SQ always feels a bit crowded and before SQ flights it can get extremely crowded, UA is a lot more spacious.
I tend to give the AC lounge a miss as the food is minimal, and like BWS I don’t drink alcohol or coffee (except for a few times per year). Before covid they did have a high quality colour printer which was useful if needing to print something… not sure if it’s still there.
Lounge hopping is fun the first few times, but I would only bother now if I happen to have a 6+ hour transit, which is unlikely for me as a London resident.
