Hi all
Happy Bank Holiday!
Flew to Lisbon last week with Ryanair from Stansted, it coincided with the power outage at Stansted. As a result my baggage was delayed for 2 days and I had to go on day 3 of my holiday to pick up the luggage. I brought the essentials, toiletries, a change of clothes etc. Total cost is just under £250 including taxi to and from airport to collect the luggage.
Has anyone submitted a delayed baggage claim to Ryanair? Lady at the desk said they normally pay £15 pounds for the first 24 hours (which doesn’t even cover my toiletries) so a ridiculous amount!
I have the Plat card although only part of the hotel was paid using this so unsure whether I can claim on that insurance. I have the free BA Amex card which was used to pay for the flight which I think the free card comes with insurance. I have HSBC Premier insurance too but not used to pay for any part of the trip. Keen to avoid putting in insurance claim so as to not have to pay any excess (don’t see why I should be out of pocket for Ryanair’s deliberate action -lady advised at baggage that flight will fly without the luggage if no time to put on flight).
Thank you!
