My delsey suitcase was damaged on the way back to London on Qatar. I reported it straight away at the airport. I am staying here for 3 days before going back to London. I contacted Qatar today and they said that they won’t be able to process my claim today as it’s weekend. I tried to ask them whether I should check in my damaged luggage and they just fobbed me off and said that London will deal with my claim.
Any one has had experience with damaged baggage with Qatar. They seem very inefficient.
So sorry to hear that. Is the suitcase useable?
Can’t help with Qatar. But once flew Alitalia from Rome to Kansai. My suitcase arrived shattered and unusable. I was in transit too flying out early next day to Seoul. They said they would need a few days to process claim. After much discussion and as I was returning to KIX before flying back to Italy, they found me a used suitcase which I could use until final departure. It was a pain transferring everything across but meant I could continue my journey. Before finally departing KIX I had to swap back to my damaged suitcase. They bound it with gaffer tape. I had to sign a waiver that suitcase was already severely damaged. On return to UK, Alitalia sent me around €100 compensation. As suitcase was old, I accepted the payment.
