If a fronted transaction fails / refunds (but doesn’t drop off at Curve’s end), does that amount return to your monthly £10k fronted allowance?
Im awaiting a similar answer from Curve, they havent responded in app or on twitter..
I think the Curve Fronted is poorly defined. Reading their blurb is says Metal cardholders now have a £10,000 limit.
Folk on this forum have stated that that limit is monthly.. Is that per calendar month or on a rolling 30 day basis???
I cannot find any information on the Curve website or FAQs.
I’ve been paying HMRC in allowable chunks. for the first time I was charged a 1.5% .. which surprised me?
Email fr Curve dated 12 Jan “Each transaction carries a 1.5% fee except for Metal customers who have a £10,000 fee-free allowance per calendar month.” No way to track allowance used in the app so need to do this yourself.
“Curve Fronted can be turned on and off. When off, you will only be able to pay eligible transactions with a debit card. Transactions paid with a credit card will be declined, giving you a choice to consider if you want to accept the possible fee.”

Correct. Thats the snag. No tracking of fronted limits. Accidentally went over without realising. Not sure if turn back in time feature will be able to resolve it and reduce threshold for fee refund
Are there some Curve T&Cs which actually show the £10k is per calendar month and not rolling 30 days?

Yes! From Curve Metal terms/fee schedule:- “No fees on Curve Fronted spending up to £10,000 per calendar month and thereafter a fee of 1.5% of the total transaction amount.”

Happy first of the month. Time to start paying HMRC again!
Apologies if this has already been covered.
I have just converted to CURVE metal, with a view to paying £10k pcm to HMRC. Have just made first payment and HMRC charges a 0.1% fee with the CURVE card (underlying card is HSBC Premier Card / 0.5 avios per £). Whilst not massive, it will add up to £120 p/a on top of the £150 p/a fee for the card. So, each avios is only costing me .45p, which is still good, but more than I thought.
So my question is….is this correct that HMRC charge this fee as I haven’t seen it mentioned before ?

I paid a week or so ago and there was no HMRC charge using the curve card.
It’s been mentioned on here a few times HSBC don’t award points for HMRC payments. I don’t use HSBC credit card so can’t confirm.

Same here, no Curve charge for HMRC payments. Curve Metal that is.

Yes that 0.1% fee is irrespective if its curve or not. For example you paid with your regular debit card it will still charge.
However I am arguing my point with curve that I accidentally went over the £10k limit and they have charged 1.5%
I went back in in time to move another transaction to a debit card and hopefully that will reduce the threshold and they can refund the fees. The 0.1% must be new as I have always paid with Tesco Debit card before and have never been charged a fee.
That’s a worrying comment about HSBC Premier Credit Card as that’s the only reason I am paying for curve metal.
So, as a newbie, if CC companies won’t give avios/points etc if using curve (with said cc card as underlying payment) – what is the advantage of curve fronted transactions other than not having the money come out of your bank account there and then ?
so asking here as realized inappropriate for the daily chat…
10 limit rests 1st of every month or every 30 days?
RegardsDoes metal still play nicely with ernie and beardy?
And are there any charges with beardy if used with metal to pay brighton?
I dont remember what changed 🙂

Meriem Webster confuses me – says from same day of the month to same day in the next month and then says Jan is one month, Feb is one month…so asking here as realized inappropriate for the daily chat…

Can anyone confirm this: If I leave Fronted switched on in the app and use Metal Curve linked to my credit card for my normal supermarket shop, will that spend come out of my £10k monthly Fronted allowance?
No. The limite only applies for Fronted transactions.
