Anyone giving out their curve points collection strategies yet since a lot got closed due to curves new limits etc.
The one I done last year triggered KYC checks but told them straight what I was doing and got a slap on the wrist.
I don’t mean tell me ones that still work, just the ones that we cannot do anymore.
I have tried amex and ernie payment this week, all failed. Telling me to go check my details. Anyone else having issues?
Amex was fine for me on Sunday, but I’ve come to the conclusion that it may be to do with having Curve linked as the payment card for quite some time now.
I haven’t had any use for Curve since November, but they seem to have stolen the 5p of curve cash I haven’t been able to spend as it now says £0.00
Wonder how many are going to trigger the fronted fee this month.
Last month’s payment was on 6th and I almost paid today before realising it was 29 days last month! 🙈I’ve used t’internet to calculate the dates and put them on my calendar for the next 6 months!

It doesn’t work like that. For example if your 30 days finish on 6th but you dont use your new fronted allowance until the 10th. You end up moving your rolling 30 days allowance. More annoyingly if you pass the monthly fee date and want to leave
Au contraire, it does work like that because I use the full allowance on the reset date.
Any spreadsheet will add 30 to a date format cell and give you a new date. Bear in mind it’s also time related, so effectively 30 X 24 hours not calendar days.
They have at least clarified that now in their online help.

Yes, same. I sat out a month in Feb so as to create clear water and will now spend it all on 4th of the month and not touch again
It’s very easy, even with 2 Curves in our house. Pay Brighton/Branson and if there’s any left over put it away for a rainy day. Then forget about it for 31 days!

Add 31 days then the time dependency point won’t be a problem at all. Think this was mentioned many many pages ago.
Does anyone know if my transaction counts towards the fronted limit if the transaction is declined? On my fronted account it appears as the transaction was taken then refunded…
Detailed spreadsheets for a few additional credit card points. Madness!

The 31 days is key. However, I don’t forget about it. I use the 3£K fronted on day 31 then turn off fronted and still use it for the cashback/rewards. So far this year this is more than covering the fee for me.

its not just a few, it adds up

im surprised people use the full allowance in one day, curve must be getting good analytics out of this gig
It’s £3k, pretty average credit card bill I would have thought. But you’re assuming they are that organised!

I just count 31 days on in my Outlook calendar. Works a treat, no need for spreadsheets!

That doesn’t even come remotely close to covering my HMRC bill… someone’s gotta pay for yesterday’s performative NI cuts
It narks me when either Curve or HMRC’s payment systems are down at the *precise minute* the clock ticks past 30 days…

I ❤️spreadsheets this is fun for me. I’m sure some people thinks we are nuts to spend so much time collecting points.

good point put in a reoccurring appointment every 31 days.
Any idea if Curve Fronted works with NS&I still, with Virgin being the underlying card? Wanted to check since I am aware Virgin now prevents you from paying other credit card bills, even with Fronted on, but unsure if the same applies to NS&I…
Thanks!
It will work, but Virgin will charge you, so not really worth it.
… It’s rolling. So transactions within the last 30 days from this second right now… And now this one… And now this one… And now this one…
