Forums Payment cards Other payment cards Curve-ATM abroad-charged for no withdrawal

  • 120 posts

I used my curve with Barclaycard behind for a Atm withdrawal whilst being abroad.
One transaction withdrew cash. The 2nd did not. I see on my Barclaycard statement that I have been charged for both transactions.
    Who do I contact?
    Barclaycard?
    Curve?
    The bank here abroad?
    Many thanks

What exactly do you mean – it shows you withdrew 2 lots of cash, or you have incurred charges for the transactions?

How long ago was this? If recent I would say wait a few days as charges like this can initially show then “drop off”.

Yes, I withdrew 2 lots of cash and it shows on my transactions that I withdrew 2 lots of cash(not pending but a charge on my account), but only on one occasion did money come out the ATM.

    It happened 5 days ago.

You need to speak to Curve

Usually these things do sort themselves out in the end when the machine does a reconciliation, otherwise Curve need to raise a request with the ATM operator to check

Weird phrasing of the issue, Let’s ignore that one ATM transaction happened exactly correctly as that has no bearing on anything.

Basically an ATM abroad failed to dispense cash but your card was charged for the cash…is that what you are saying ? Did the ATM tell you it had dispensed cash, did you keep the receipt from the ATM ?

Correct, an ATM(using curve) abroad failed to dispense cash but my card(barclaycard) was charged for the cash.
The ATM did not tell me that it dispensed cash, rather just said, there was a technical issue. No receipts were provided.
It has now been a week
    Thanks

What has Curve CS said ? They aren’t the most efficient but they still should have responded by now.
