My parents have just decided their last big trip abroad (from New Zealand) will be to Greece and to cruise around some of the islands. I might see if I can take the family out to meet them, so…
Looking for a recommendation of somewhere to base ourselves that is both suitable for kids (8 and 11, so beaches/water parks etc) and a hub for cruises. I’ve never been a boat person myself, so not sure how they work (can you ‘hop on’ at any point or do you have to start where the boat starts?)
Do they want a cruise or to do their own thing island hopping?
Some of the Cruises around Greece start in Corfu, an island that has daily connections from the UK’s airports. There are several big hotel resorts on the island too. You can also get to Albania or the Greek mainland by public transport (ferries/dolphin’s) and there is lots to see and do.
They want a cruise.
Thanks @Peggerz, I was starting to think they all departed from Athens.
I’m now thinking of somewhere family friendly before sending them off on their cruise, so not restricted to departure points. Probably late May, hopefully warm enough for a bit of pool action.
