Forums Frequent flyer programs Other frequent flyer schemes Crediting Iberia / Vueling to Qatar Airways

Pretty straight forward. I am about to book a flight sold by Iberia and partly operated by Vueling.

    1) Will I be able to earn miles on my Vueling segment, because I read the rules on miles earning and it said nothing about earning rates etc.

    2) Can I credit the miles of the journey on my Qatar Airways Privilege Club, since I am planning to use it more, or should I create a BA Executive club account and credit the miles there?

I suggest you take a good look at wheretocredit dot com and info from Vueling and BA sites – whatever you can find. Flyertalk may have a wiki with this sort of info.

You’d need to keep checking every flight on every booking as earning on Vueling is by no means a given. At a minimum you have to buy the correctly codeshared (or not) flight number, typically Vueling or IB, maybe BA or another.

Have you checked to see how much the Vueling flight is on the Vueling website? You may save more money than the value of any miles you may earn.

(Although if you book on separate tickets that may screw your plans if something goes wrong).

1 – you can earn miles using your Vueling Avios account, or Avios and tier points on an Iberia account.

2 – you can freely move miles between Vueling/Iberia/BA/Qatar so it doesn’t matter where you credit (unless the miles earned is different, I cannot tell without more info of what you are booking)
