So, after three attempts, one in branch and two on my computer, and three replies that somehow my name and address were not readable and other unknown information may be incorrect, I have finally abandoned my attempt to obtain a sensible credit limit on this card. i have cancelled my application, Barclays have agreed to reverse my first month’s premium for this card, and i am aware that if I wish to apply again for this card, I should wait for a while, at least six months. Oh, what sadness – I was looking forward to reapplying !!
So, to all of you still banging your heads against the brick wall that is Barclaycard, I wish the best of luck; rather you than me.
What’s your definition of a “sensible limit” in comparison to what you were offered?
Based on the fact they were requesting his paperwork over and over I would say his definition of a sensible credit limit would be something reasonable more than £200. £200 is the holding limit given to anyone who has to submit further income verifications. Sadly many people have run into issues with these submissions and Barclays apparent ineptitude at being able to read them.
