I haven’t used CPs much in recent years but have booked a couple this week (Solihull and Manchester) as they suit my travel needs for the next couple of months and also qualify for the Amex £50 back offer currently. I contacted them both to ask what the club lounge offerings are and was told in both cases that there are drinks and canapes in the evening but no breakfast. Plenty of other properties have managed to resume full breakfast service so I am wondering if this is another cost-cutting measure. It definitely doesn’t seem worth paying the club room premium for a couple of drinks and some evening nibbles (as you’re likely to be eating dinner anyway). I did ask if Spires were likely to be given club access regardless but just got very vague answers about it depending on how busy they are.
I imagine it depends on the hotel. Went to CP Harrogate 2 weeks ago and as Spire on a reward booking got club lounge access as the welcome amenity.
Rubbish canapes in the evening but free alcohol for 2hrs (beer and wine I think, I didn’t partake). Continental breakfast in the morning. Soft drinks throughout the day.
