Hello, help required please, can I use a companion voucher (1st time) for a multi city flight, example fly from Heathrow to Venice and return Istanbul to Heathrow.
From what I can see I must use Avios for my flights and the companion voucher for my wife but when I log onto the BA web site and try a dummy run I can’t find an option for multi city. Thank you Dave
You can’t book this online. You need to check the rules about open jaw bookings – your specific itinerary will depend on the distances involved. I’m guessing you might be intending to use the flights to bookend a cruise? In theory this is possible, if it fits the open jaw rules. You’ll need to call BA to book the whole trip, or alternatively use the voucher to book the outbound, then book the inbound separately and request the extra avios back from BA at your convenience.
As above, you can’t book Avios open jaw itineraries online with BA, although you can for cash tickets. The fundamental IATA fare construction rule for open jaws is that the distance of the ‘surface’ sector cannot exceed that of either flight. In this case, the distance between Venice and Istanbul exceeds the distance London to Venice so that itinerary is not allowed as an open jaw; it is two singles.
