If you have an existing companion voucher form the free version of the BA AMEX card, will it automatically upgrade if you upgrade to the premium version of the card? Or do you have to earn the premium voucher (all cabins) from scratch?
No – you have to have earned the BAPP voucher while holding the card. If you upgrade to the BAPP you’ll still have the same anniversary date, so won’t start a new earning year till then. If you’re desperate to earn another 241, you’re better off closing the original card and applying for a new one.
Bummer… I guess I better wait until my next annual cycle to upgrade then. If my anniversary is in October, then as long as I upgrade after then before earning the basic voucher, I’ll be working towards the premium voucher, correct?
