I have booked one way for me and the wife to Tokyo in CW using the CV. So, I believe I now need to book the return, when released, obviously paying full whack in Avios. Then who do i ring and what do I ask for in respect of combing the bookings and getting the return part of the whole booking, thus reducing my points outlay?
Well done on getting the outbound! The difficult bit comes next, and you’d be wise to have a look at 2 threads which deal with this – one titled something like “Japan with avios” and the much longer “How to book the return at T-355”. You may decide that your chances are better if you call to actually book the inbound rather than trying to grab them online at 1 am when someone may already be through to an agent who is also poised and ready to pounce.
Best strategy probably to be doing both simultaneously!

Thanks for the advice. I don’t have a landline, so a mobile may be a tad expensive to Australia! I could journey out to my office.
How long does it take to get through? I guess you have to time it right, does it matter if you are early?
This stuff is discussed at length in the threads I mentioned – there’s not really a simple answer, unfortunately!

We used Viber. You get a weeks free trial so you can time it for your call then cancel afterwards (that’s what e did). Used to phone the Australia office.
