Club Eurostar status – do transferred points count?

Since Club Eurostar does not have separate status + reward points, I assume that transferring Amex MR points to Club Eurostar can move one up to the next status level?

I don’t think that works. I made an MR transfer, admittedly without having made previous journey, and my target to advance levels didn’t budge.

Nope, it has to be spend on Eurostar services.
