Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Cityflyer from LCY: What’s the Meal deal?

  • 5 posts

I have managed to use the flexible rebooking option to move my next flight out of LHR to LCY instead, so that’s a plus in terms of cancellation risk.

However I am now faced with no lounge, and no Speedbird/BOB options on Cityflyer. Is there a meal/drinks service on-board in economy, or do I need to find a local pub to LCY before my flight, given the wretched price/quality of LCY’s F&B offerings (and if so any suggestions)?

In economy it’s a bottle of water and a snack so think bag of crisps / pretzels

That’s for AMS/BER. Longer short hauls may get more but I doubt it.

I’ve had more on the longest short hauls.

That’s the LHR offering. LCY you get a more substantial snack based on the time of day – usually a sandwich and the full bar service (not sure if the bar service is available at breakfast) so you can get wine, G&T etc, all complimentary. It’s basically what BA used to offer 10 years ago from LHR before BoB started.

There is a flyertalk thread that details exactly what you will get. If you’re a hungry fellow, you’re definitely going to have to find something in addition:

Shorter routes is crisps/biscuit and bar trolley. No alcohol at breakfast.

You get the sandwich on longer routes which are basically Spain, Portugal, southern Italy and Greece

I got a sandwich to Nice, so that’s in scope too.

    Thanks all.

Destination Spain, Coronation chicken sandwich provided which was pleasant enough.

A bit of a wait (1 hour after take-off) for the bar service given only 2 cabin crew for a full flight and given my experience they’ll run out of time to serve you again so grab two while you’re at it (which they were OK with).
