Choosing the voucher later

I’m given the option to choose the voucher or avios. If I choose to delay choosing the voucher, does that mean the expiry date is 24 months from that date or the original earned date?

The clock starts when the voucher is issued, either when you hit the ‘Redeem’ button or – if you’ve earned it but not redeemed – when it is automatically generated at the end of your spend year.
