About to book a few (domestic) flights on China Eastern, and wondering how easy/difficult the process would be to get Skyteam Elite Plus status (with Virgin Gold) recognised.
Seat selection, lounge access, baggage…
Anyone have personal experience using their Virgin status on China Eastern successfully? Any tips?
Note – I also have the ITA Volare Skyteam Elite plus status too, but have read some threads that recognition is zero as the China Eastern system doesn’t accept ITA numbers… even at check-in…
SkyTeam policy for elite plus is that you only get lounge access for economy domestic flights if you have a same-day international flight. But no harm in trying.
Ah that’s a really good point, that the lounge access via Elite Plus is only for international flights, not domestic.
On a separate topic… now that I’ve booked my China Eastern flight (on Trip.com)… how do I go about adding my Virgin FF to the booking? And selecting seats?
It seems like the “manage my booking” function on the ceair.com is only for tickets booked via China Eastern directly…
@dahokolomoki Any update on how you got on with China Eastern and whether miles credited to your chosen scheme? I have 4 flights coming up LHR-HND, connecting in PVG in both directions
