Why when checking flights using a CV from Inv to Chicago is it the same price as Edi to Chicago if there is no APD from Inv. Is it because it is a RFS fare? I have also checked leaving Madrid and Dublin and is more expensive again and only offering BA flight options and not Iberia or EL options?

Yes sadly the Inverness loophole vanished when RFS was applied to long haul avios fares, a shame as we enjoyed catching the highland chieftain and enjoying a couple of nights tossing the caber before sallying forth more than once.

Hi all, a couple of months ago someone posted a really useful website where people had been putting down how pong it took for passport renewal. I can’t seem to find that thread (Rob do they only go far back, I asked the question in Feb). I can’t for the life of me remember what that website it, can anyone help? Thank you!

Any information on that thread would be a very small sammple and out of date. You’re better off checking here

Any recommendations for transfer/taxi services in Tenerife? Looking to go to/from TFS to Ritz Carlton Abama – just two people plus bags.

Also, any suggestions for somewhere affordable but decent to stay either close to the Ritz Carlton or close to the airport? We’d be arriving into Tenerife late, so not sure if it’s worth paying for the Ritz Carlton on night 1.

Well it’s hello from the Delta Marriott at Giardini Naxos which has surprised me like no other hotel has (because there are virtually no pictures of the rooms on the website)

Upgraded to a corner suite from a King with the nightly upg vouchers, we not only have a Lavazzo machine and a (non corby) trouser press plus 11 stealable hangers (might have to leave them with an even numner), a 100 inch TV,and two balconies. 3 boxes of water in the room plus unlimited supply in reception pleases me, as do the box of local biscuits as a welcome gift.

The thing that is most surprising is the decor. The walls are fabric covered in dark red with a gold rose pattern. This fabric extends to all six of the chairs the ottoman and the lounger but not the completely out of place black leather two seater in the loung area of the suite. Carpet is all the same shade of red so it’s a bit overpowering. The furniture is all repro Louis 16th with marble tops or glass tops. Then the balcony furniture is modern plastic stuff.

Since there’s no lounge for Plat & Titanium members they have an executive pantry that I can access 24/7. Will check it out later. Breakfast is inc but parking is 18 euro/night.

No complaints, paid £230 after amex cback, for a stay in a room that would be £625.

Those of you who know these things. I am wholly aware that changes can and do happen, but with regard to the current 2 x BA to MIA daily, what kind of aircraft are these (decks and seating)? I need to use a Barclays voucher so my options are limited 😬.

Sorry I was doing the Delta a disservice. There are 3 balconies not 2, and another 11 hangers that I missed on a different wardrobe.

Answered my own question, at least one has an upstairs …!

    @davefl
sounds very operatic and opulent, not to mention symmetrical!

Good afternoon from the Petronilla hotel Bergamo, fabulous welcome, 6 good hangars, coffee machine and quality loo roll. Two runs from Peschiera del Garda to Verona airport this morning with the family, it would only have been one if they hadn’t missed their flight last week and complicated the hire car logistics. You will all be pleased to hear they found the correct gate and are safely airborne. Enjoying some peace and quiet, especially after a 40 minute walk in the pouring rain last night with a delinquent five year old. That will teach me to be prepared for inclement weather, I was the only one with a raincoat and a brolly, the Uber wasn’t equipped with a child seat.

Yes! That was what I was searching for, it looks like the inside of an opera house.

I recently renewed my passport. Completed the online application on the Wednesday, posted my expiring passport back the same day. By Saturday morning the new passport was delivered. I was amazed. Friends have had similar experiences.

Ahh, that make sense now! Anyway, I have now booked the perfectly adequate and excellent value HI East Kilbride for 21k points per night, which offers free parking and free access to the pool!

Come and see us at Strathaven Airfield – where all the seats are economy class, sadly!

But it sounds a lot of fun, @Colin!

Not sure I would bother pre-booking a taxi. There are usually plenty available at the airport and the queue is well organised.

Thanks! It wouldn’t cost a fortune on the meter? It’s about 35km drive
