I previously thought the same, until my wife needed a short notice trip away and couldn’t sign up in time so missed out on the benefits. You never know when you might need it, and there is no harm in getting it.

No this is fine – bags will go through and you’ll likely have your BP either online or from Belfast check in to just go through T3 security on your return from lunch. If not you can stop by CX check in to collect it
