Unashamed plug for the new Center Parcs planned for my home town of Hawick in the Scottish Borders.
The main town Knitwear industry has been decimated since I started work with Lyle and Scott in the mid 80’s. The manufacturers Pringle, Lyle and Scott and Peter Scott are now gone and with it thousands of jobs. It is fantastic news for the town and indeed whole Scottish Borders area.I’ve never been to a Center Parcs but we did stay at Schloss Roxburghe earlier this year and I can recommend the area if you’re an outdoors/history/scenery buff. Finally got to visit Hermitage Castle after many years of it being on my Mary Queen of Scots bucket list after Covid and seasonal closures meant we always seemed to miss it!
