Car hire cover – does it have to paid for on the Amex?

Can someone advise on a quick question?

For the car hire insurance on the Business Platinum, does one actually need to purchase the car hire on the Amex or not?

Related, but less important, are any of the other benefits (lost luggage, trip cancellation, etc.) dependent on the related purchase being made on the Amex.

I’ve scanned through the T&C, but can’t see anything that obviously clarifies this one way or the other.

I believe for regular cards, yes. For ICC, no.
