Cannot link Emirates account to American Express

I cannot seem to link my emirates skywards account to my amex account. I just get an error after submitting the form, I’m not sure If I’m incorrectly filling the form in or if its a backend IT issue.

Have you ever linked any other Amex card to Emirates? An old cancelled one? There used to be – may still be – a bug (or perhaps a feature) which prevents two different Amex cards from EVER being linked to the same Emirates account.

Thx, I dont think its that as not linked before. Was trying to get ahead of potential skywards FA cup final tickets, but given they are auction not buy now and already way out of my league, the urgency has reduced, I’ll take it up with AMEX chat.
