Forums Other Destination advice Cancun Lounge options

  • 53 posts

    Hi all,

Flying BA to cancun and back, I understand the BA lounge is before security so wondering if it is even worth visiting.
I also have an Amex platinum, so wondering if it is worth going to another lounge but I have understand there can be long waiting times for the lounges after security.
So wondering what the best options are

    thanks

Yes that’s correct. It’s opposite the BA check in area. We came back club from Cancun in August – Think it’s poor to be honest given the cost for a family of four. It was fine (good cocktails etc) but we didn’t make the most of it as we had no idea how long we really needed to leave the lounge, go through security, get to gate etc. It’s certainly odd going to a lounge before security. I thought they were joking when we checked in and they pointed to the lounge opposite check-in.

Also – food wasn’t great so don’t rely on that in prep for a night flight home.

Thanks, that’s good to know, may pack something from the hotel as a backup

Flew this route last night. Both lounges aren’t that good to be honest. You can book the lounge after security online – opentable.com.mx/r/vip-lounge-by-mera-terminal-3-cancun. We didn’t know and had to wait over an hour to get in

Last time I flew CW with BA from Cancun 2 years ago I’m sure we were given vouchers at check in or showed boarding card for credit at a food outlet, which was a much better option than the tiny basic lounge.

I think those vouchers were enhanced away during the pandemic!

The BA lounge opposite the check in area is pants. I wouldn’t bother going in that again.
