Hi,
As reported in an article on HFP, BA has cancelled its winter scehulde to Bangkok from London.
We have flights booked over the xmas holidays for our family of 4 in premium booked with cash as no reward flights available.
My booking is not showing as cancelled yet even though a search on BA shows that the flights is not going to happen.
I want to rebook ASAP on another carrier but cannot cancwel the flights myself as I will only get the taxes back and not the nearly £7000 that we spent.
My question is should I wait for BA to contact me and do they have to rebook me on an alrernative shuch a long-way ahead?
Also, if other carriers do not have a premium cabin, are they obliged to send us business or will they downgrade us?
The irony is I could have booked business for almost the same price but not direct with other airlines.
Thanks
Tried twice to rebook ours already but agents clain they can do nothing as long as the PNR show as confirned. A real pain as EDI-DOH-BKK is our simplest option. Seats currently available but will disappear fast due to World Cup. Can see us having to go 2 stops via Sri Lanka, Malaysia or Jordan.
Wait until BA contact you. They will be working through the rebookings in date order.
Yes they will rebook you (likely on QR) even for a trip this far in advance
No they won’t upgrade you to business if your booking is in PE.
