Is it possible to book the outbound leg of a points and upgrade voucher redemption on the day it is available… Adding the return leg when it becomes available?
I have done this many times with BA to guarantee the dates, but usually do it online as a one way with companion voucher… Calling up to do the return (without any call centre fees).
I’m looking for specific dates from Edinburgh, so spaces are tight!
Thanks.
Do you want to apply the upgrade voucher to the return as well? Not sure you can do that but am pretty sure you can phone and book return flight separately. It will be on a separate PNR so potentially two cancellation fees if it is necessary to do so. If preferred flight is available why not just book online?
Thanks.
I’m looking to secure the outbound as soon as it is available in the system. With a 3-week travel time, I’d fear that the outbound flight would be gone by the time the return is available.
With BA, you can book as a one-way online with a voucher and they will reprice the taxes/fees when you call back up to add the return.
Since it isn’t possible to redeem a Virgin voucher online, I must call regardless.
I’m just hoping I can call on the day the outbound flight is released to leave the return “open” or temporarily book one-way, adding the return when it’s released.
