Forums Frequent flyer programs Virgin Flying Club Campaign against Virgin Atlantic regarding closing accounts unfairly

  • 3 posts

Looking to start a campaign to take legal actions against Virgin Atlantic and other Airmiles programmes who treat innocent customers unfairly by closing their airmiles account (including confiscating hard earned emails) without transparently explaining the reason behind it.
If you are a victim (not a fraudster!) and want to be part of this campaign, you are welcome to join.
    All suggestions are welcome!

    Talk to a lawyer first.
You may not get a good grip on Virgin as much as you like.

It’s unsurprisingly rare, I think you’ll struggle to start a class action here or anywhere for that matter.

Mounting a GLA (group legal action) in the UK is not easy, carries the risk of costs and frankly, I think the number of affected parties will be very low. It is also very easy to take legal action yourself, with low court fees and without the risk of costs unless your case is vexatious or conduct unreasonable. I believe that Virgin would cave very quickly on receipt of a claim and almost certainly following a good letter before claim. Don’t know how Virgin confiscated your “hard earned emails”!? I mention this as, were you to write a good letter it needs to be well written and structured so they know you mean business. All this pre-supposes innocence.
