Has anyone got any recommendations for hotels in Bruges? I’m currently thinking about the Crowne Plaza for a 4 night stay, as it’s central and I’m IHG Diamond. It doesn’t have an exec lounge though. Does anyone have any experience of this hotel and how well status is recognised? Or any other recommendations of other centrally located hotels? Have the usual hotel statuses from my Amex Platinum.
I stayed there for a night, it’s ‘quirky. Got a lovely suite up in the attic. Very wierd layout. Can’t give you a lot more as I arrived at 10pm and was gone by 9am. 90/91 bus from the rail station stops outside. Very convenient.
It was 5 years ago, I didnt pay for a suite so they must have upgraded me but I don’t remember.

In what way was it quirky? Are you meaning the layout of the room you had, or the hotel in general? A couple of reviews mention that their suites had separate toilets outside of the bathrooms, which were in incredibly small rooms – is that what you’re referring to? We’ll be travelling by train, so your tip on the bus is useful – thanks.
I’ve just looked back at my pics and I only have ones of the room so cant comment on the rest of the hotel. The attic room door lead directly on to a double flight of stairs, the bed/desk/sofa and a tiny drinks table were on one side of the stairs and then you had to walk back around the stairwell to get to the bathroom. That’s what I meant by quirky.
The room itself was pretty big and the ceiling was all exposed wooden beams.

Thanks for taking the time to look. It does indeed sound quirky. It sounds like it’s a consequence of the hotel trying to utilise the space in an old / existing (not purpose built) building. The reviews I’ve read are generally really positive, and there seem to be limited options for earning or burning points.
