Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Bronze status – can I change pre-selected seat for free 7 days before flying?

  • 34 posts

Flying to Asia in May. My wife was BA silver when we booked our flights last year so we took advantage of the free seat selection when we booked.

She has since lost silver so is now bronze and its saying we’d need to pay to change our original seat selection. Am I right in saying that 7 days before departure, we should be able to change seats for free ?

Yes, at T-7 (not just 7 days before), she should once again be able to select seats for free.

I’d try to change it now, given you have already booked seats and it’s BA want you to change. Try online, if not ring. They should say yes , but lost nothing if they say no

Where has @gavman99 said it’s BA that’s required a change of seats?

Until the bronze seat selection period kicks in they’ll have to pay to change.

I wouldn’t be calling BA as they might chuck you out of the seats which could also happen if there’s any aircraft change, seat reassignment/human seating review. Best to lie low until T-7.

I misinterpreted the “its saying” as they ‘been told to’ , yes if they want to volunterary change seats then will have to pay , or wait till bronze window.
