Forums Payment cards Barclaycard Avios Booking return SYD-LHR post booking horizon using 2 Barclays vouchers

Used to booking Avios redemption flights Lhr-Syd outward using Amex 2-4-1 at midnight 355 days in advance when return not yet available. When return is available can either pay using full Avios at midnight 355 days in advance and then call BA next day to add voucher & refund 50% of Avios or use a separate Amex 2-4-1 online as allowed to use from non-UK origin.
How will this work with 2 Barclays vouchers (1 Barclays Avios, 1 Barclaycard Avios Plus)? These cannot be used from non-UK origin so I can’t use online for a one-way on the return leg Syd-Lhr at midnight 355 days in advance. And because you can only use each voucher for a 1 person return, will the BA system even allow you to book the outward one-way Lhr-Syd for 2 people using 2 vouchers rather than insisting you only use 1 voucher as that permits 2 people to travel one-way. And if the system insists on me only using 1 voucher on the outward when I then come to book the return online at midnight 355 days in advance using full Avios, then when I call BA the next day to add the return to the outward and refund 50% of return flight Avios they will refuse as the booking only has 1 voucher on it when it needs 2.
So I suppose I’m asking if anyone knows whether BA online system will allow use of 2 vouchers for 2 people on a one-way leg and whether BA will then allow a return leg post booking horizon to be manually added?
Would be so much simpler if Barclays vouchers could be used from non-UK locations which Amex allows (although that was a relatively recent change)!

There’s plenty of discussion on this in the dedicated threads but basically you can book the outbound journeys with 2 vouchers. Sometimes this is possible online but sometimes people have had to call to have it all on one booking, I think there’s an IT issue with some browsers.

For the inbound you’ll probably need to call, though there may be a few posts about people getting the vouchers added retrospectively. Obviously with being SYD, it’s not going to be easy getting seats.

Thanks, yes indeed from past experience you have to book online at midnight 355 days in advance to get businesses class seats on this route, a couple of minutes later and they’re gone so calling BA in the morning is not an option. I’ve added return flights with Amex vouchers many times as per my post, so hoping it will be ok with Barclays vouchers if I can use 2 on outward journey. Will trial with a one way booking when I get the vouchers in a couple of months when I get them (obviously without pressing the final Pay Now button!).
But I really hope they change the policy on non-UK origins as Amex did since clearly that demonstrated the demand/need!

We’re looking to do something similar. Two vouchers, one each.
But, according to @JDB, although the return is obviously not ex UK, it will be one ticket/booking per person.
The challenge will be in Aus to get home on the vouchers, a)getting 2xCW seats, and b)persuading the call centre to add them to our vouchers etc.
Not sure if anybody has any experience like this?

    If it’s 2 people’s vouchers, it’s going to be 2 separate bookings.
From what I’ve read on here, it’s possible to book 2 x outbound legs with a voucher each then ask BA to add the returns, or get the other halves applied to inbound bookings IF you get an agent who knows what they’re doing.
The issue will be grabbing the seats in the seats in the first place, especially on the inbound when you’re explaining what you need doing on 2 separate bookings!
You can have different cabins on each leg if you’re happy with CW one way and PE the other.
