Are they all the way on the street leading to Clerigos tower? I last stayed in November and the works were already starting, but these rooms (junior suites) are almost on the corner of the building so you couldn’t really see it unless you leaned. Things might have evolved though.

They do also have rooms facing the other side, but not as good of a view.

Until you mentioned the tower, I didn’t actually realise how close it is to the IC! when you walk west past the front of the hotel, you are fixed South down the side of the hotel, where Sotheby’s is. The road works are all around the front and the west side of the hotel – if you look on google maps you can see the road closures.

Few weeks late, but reporting back.

Porto was great for a weekend. Very hilly, but quite compact.

Thanks for the review, any particular recommendations from your weekend? Looking at it for a 3-4 day break, would that be enough time for a non-rushed visit?

Good to hear the new Hilton would be in a good spot, prices seems decent at the moment.

I did Friday-Monday and had plenty of time.

I used this blog as a guide, so no point me claiming these tips as my own! https://theportablewife.com/travel/destinations/porto-itinerary-2-days/

    I particularly liked:-
Base – outdoor cafe/bar by the Clérigos Tower. Nice vibe in the sun.
Rooftop Flores – small garden above a museum where you can enjoy a beer looking over the rooftops.
Mercado Beira Ria – smaller version of the Lisbon Timeout food market on south side of river.
Porto Cruz – another rooftop bar – above museum near the market. I didn’t go but was recommended.

As you can tell, I spent a lot of time eating and drinking. Was sunny but not overly warm – expect will be even better in warmer weather.
    Enjoy!
