Hello – first time poster here, we have been saving our avios for quite some time now (currently around 210k avios). We already have a reward flight booked to Rome this year but have a companion voucher due to expire september 26′ and are looking to book a return flight to florida next year in business as we are going on a one week cruise in April next year so thought we would tag on a few days before or after to spend some days in Florida.
In an ideal world we are looking to fly out from London on 5th or 6th April 26′ to Orlando and then return from Orlando to London on either 18th or 19th April 26. I appreciate this is in an ideal world and not having as much flexibility is not great for us.
I have done my research and am also going to sign up to rewardflightfinder this evening BUT can I just check my understanding is correct;-
– Currently flights are released until 2nd April 2026 so if we want to book our outbound flight for 5th April 2026 then I either need to phone on Tuesday (going in to wednesday) at midnight OR go online to BA’s website and to try and secure 2 business class reward flights using the companion voucher?
– For the return trip on 18th or 19th April 26′ I would need to phone or go online on 28th or 29th April 2025?
In order to add some sort of flexibility we could possibly fly in or out to Miami or Tampa international airports then hiring a car to drive across to Florida – I feel like that could be a possiblity for us?
I also did see that we could possibly fly to Dublin and then get on a BA flight from Dublin to Florida if that may open us up to more seats.
I feel a little stressed about this as it’s all come around so soon – I am trying to do my own research but wondered if someone could sense check the above?
Thank you so much in advance!
D&D.
Don’t mess with reward flight finder just concentrate on booking what you want when they are released.
Ok so just try online and on the phone at midnight or is it 1am as I seem to be getting conflicting info?
And in terms of calling, what is the best number to call to try and book?
Didn’t you put this question on the long thread? I’m sure I posted a detailed response!

NorthernLass – oh my gosh so sorry I must have missed that, I only signed up yesterday and I think there was a delay between my post and it actually showing up so I assumed I had miss-clicked hence my seperate post.
We are definitely now looking at Orlando, Tampa and Miami – I think Atlanta might just be a bit too much for us to drive.
I believe it will be tomorrow midnight (or possibly 1am Wednesday) that I need to stay up to try and book – I am going to try on both the website but also by calling but am getting very confused with which number I need to try and call?
At 1 am tomorrow (so in just under 5 hours) award seats will be released for April 4th. However, there are currently 4 x CW showing to MIA on SeatSpy for the 3rd – if this was me I would double check on BA then get them booked online asap if they are actually there. It’s Good Friday so you may not need to book an extra day off work (unless you’re chained to the public sector and rostered to work that day!)
MCO and TPA are going to be very competitive – I think a lot of people prefer to fly from LGW.
I don’t know what number people are currently ringing, there might be something on the long thread if you trawl back a few pages.
There are 2 left on the 1405 departure on the 3rd. I’m thinking someone may have booked these at 1 am then cancelled within 24 hours. These are like hen’s teeth for the period you are travelling! Are there just 2 of you travelling?

I did see these earlier – unfortunately the 3rd is just too early it kinda needs to be 5th, 6th ot 7th.
Alternatively we have been discussing in detail this evening – our cruise from port canaveral is on 12th April next year, we could just fly out on perhaps 10th April and then tag on a few days after the cruise, hence (hopefully) missing the easter holiday rush. And possibly have better odds at getting the reward seats
That could work well – IIRC off-peak pricing resumes around April 13th as well. I’m waiting till around then to book seats to NAS and hopefully miss Easter AND US Spring Break, lol.
Yep I think we are leaning more toward that now – so itinerary would look something like;-
10th or 11th April – Fly to Florida / Tampa or Miami
12th April – Make our way to Port Canaveral to join Cruise
19th April – Depart Cruise (early AM) & either head to Orlando or Miami (depending on what return flight we can secure)
23rd / 24th April – Fly back to the UK from either Orlando / Tampa or Miami
I guess the only thing I will need to keep in mind is that if we have to fly back in to a different London airport (depending on reward flight availability) we will need to get a cab or train to pick up our Car to drive back home
woohoo managed to blag 2 x business class flights LGW to Orlando <3
now I dont need to stress until this time in two weeks when I need to try and call to book the return leg
Thank you so much to everyone who has posted here and all the helpful tips I have found browsing HFP!!
