Hi
Has anyone experience on how the IHG call centre treats using a suite upgrade voucher on stays over 5 nights?
I appreciate the hotel may/may not allow you to remain in the suite but I’m planning to use one soon and I wasn’t sure if I have 9 nights booked, whether they’ll apply the voucher or am I better to change it to a 5 night stay and a 4 night stay?
Thanks
I don’t think a single reservation can have the room type change halfway so I think you will have to make two separate bookings
Yep, been asked before. I think you’d need to have one booking of 5 nights or less to apply the suite upgrade to, or they’ll just say no. It’s not down to IHG CS whether you’re allowed to stay in the suite, so they can’t apply it to a booking over that number of nights – once it’s applied the new room category shows in your booking.
I have in the past booked a 7 night stay as 5 + 2 booking and applied the CSU to the 5 night booking
Then I emailed the hotel to ask if it was possible to stay in the same room
The IC San Francisco did allow this a couple of times but the IC Chicago wanted $75 a night.
But it’s a lot easier for a hotel to allow this for a night or 2 nights but 4 will likely be pushing the boat out too much
For 9 nights I’d be prepared to use 2 CSUS
