I had a weekend at The Langley in late November which I paid for with the Bonvoy Amex to earn x6 points per £. I noticed in December that Amex had only awarded the standard x2 points for the stay so spoke to them on their live chat. They asked me to send a link to the hotel on the Marriott website to prove it was indeed a Marriott Bonvoy property. Then said I’d receive the missing points within a week.
One month later, having still not received the points I called the Brighton number on the back of the card yesterday (however I don’t believe I spoke to someone at the Brighton call centre). They told me that Marriott had withdrawn some hotels from the x6 points per £ offered by the card. But also said Marriott have since changed this. They asked me to contact Marriott about the missing the points. This seemed odd. I asked why I should contact Marriott when in the past Amex always post the correct number of points to the card for stays at Bonvoy properties which then transfer to my Bonvoy account once a month. I wasn’t confident the woman I was speaking to had a full grasp of what I was saying.
The call went on for over half an hour! It finished with the woman saying she would do her best to look into it but I should contact Marriott also..
Has anyone else had issues with receiving the x6 points on Bonvoy stays recently, particularly for stays at The Langley?
Very different end of the market, but a recent stay at Delta MCR airport only posted as 2x for me. Following day at Marriott Malta posted 6x as expected. Previous Delta stays have worked fine so no idea if that was a blip. Only a cheap 1 night rate so haven’t bothered chasing it up.
